Wix Studio: CMS Limits on Free Sites

Your free site CMS quota is based on whether or not your Wix account is in the Wix Studio platform.

Yes. This is an exclusive benefit for all Wix Studio sites.

Yes. The increased quota only applies to sites you're the owner of. If you're a site co-owner or have any other site role, the new quotas do not apply.

If you upgrade to a Premium or Studio plan that includes higher CMS limits than the new quota for free sites, you automatically move to the quota offered by your new plan. The features you already have on your free sites (number of items & collections) are included in your new quota.

For example, if you have 1,000 collection items on your free site and you upgrade to a plan that includes 10,000 items, you have 9,000 items left to use.

If you upgrade to a plan that includes lower CMS limits than the new free plan quota, you move to the quota offered by your new plan. When you upgrade, none of the existing collections or items are deleted, but you are unable to add more if they exceed the new quota.

For example, consider a free site with 5,000 collection items that you upgrade to a plan that includes 4,000 items. In this case, your items exceed the limit in the new plan. In order to add more items, you need to delete existing items until your item count is under 4,000, or upgrade to a plan with more items. We will not delete any items exceeding the limit, but you can't add more until you take action.

The 10,000 collection item limit specifically applies to collections you create. This means it does not extend to collections created by Wix apps. This limit offers plenty of room to develop your site, without impacting the available space for your apps, products, and CRM contacts and members. If you need to expand your collections further beyond this limit, consider upgrading to a Premium or Studio plan that accommodates your needs.

If you choose to leave Wix Studio, your free site CMS quota reverts to 1,000 items and 10 collections. This is also the free site CMS quota if you never joined Wix Studio.
